Undifferentiated uterine sarcoma: case report

Undifferentiated uterine sarcoma is a rare condition characterized by abnormal bleeding and pelvic pain, which may overlap with the clinical picture of myomatosis. Its presentation usually chronic drastically affects stage at time diagnosis. Since it seen in postmenopausal patients, undifferentiated premenopausal patients rare. We herein report 58-year-old Mexican woman, who suffered from progressive pain for 3 months as well 5-day course bleeding. Study images revealed pedunculated uterine-mass suggestive sarcomatous degeneration, accompanied left internal iliac necrotic adenopathy, scarce free fluid. The patient underwent tumor implants resection, total abdominal hysterectomy, bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy, lymphadenectomy, omentectomy appendectomy via laparotomy. Despite therapeutic options management sarcomas described literature, its survival rate varies between 21% to 68%, when diagnosed on depending if cancer localized, regional or distant.
